When you were with me I brought out the best in you I know this for a fact It can be proven simply By how you had all of these conflicts inside of you Eating away at your insides Feeling so much pain Not being able to comprehend it Or even fully grasp it That made you inhuman Not knowing how else to manage it Yet With all that loosely locked inside I barely got to meet that thing That thing that the unlucky had the misfortune of meeting That thing that made me an unlucky a few times That thing that took over without your consent I knew the true human you actually were The version of yourself you could say you were proud of I hope I gave you a way out Even just for a few moments Of peace for once Of silence Of rest Of relaxation I hope you had a break From that unbearable pain Of those overwhelming feelings That took over who you truly were And made you into your worst I hope that with me You felt happy You felt at ease You felt love But I don’t hope Not anymore Because now, I know I know you did And that’s what has allowed me to release the painful memories
